Another Short Stop: Frayed Knot

The closer we get to leaving (now 9 days, but who's counting) the more we are getting pulled in a dozen different directions. Work has to come first, but then there are requests for interviews (WHY us??), travel plans, ticket snafus; you name it, it's happening. On top of that, we're getting all kinds of strange "friend" requests on Facebook. Let me see: The last definition that I knew of a friend was someone with whom I have a connection, other than in cyberspace.Understand, my days are full of cyberspace. It's what I do for a living. Adding names to my FB page just for the sake of having 5,000 friends is not on my radar right now.

So why "frayed knot?"

A piece of rope goes into a bar and the bartender tells him "I'm sorry but we don't serve rope in this bar." Two days later, the rope goes back in wearing a hat and sunglasses. The bartender says, "I thought I told you that we don't serve rope here."

Finally, he's all twisted around and at the end of his rope. He goes in once again and the bartender says, "Hey, aren't you that piece of rope?" The rope replies, "No, I'm a frayed knot!"

Get it? That's what our lives are like right now.

Post Script: Humor is my best escape! Actually, humor is my only escape. For those of you who have sent me notes, don't worry! Am I really THAT stressed? Frayed not :)
