A Musing: An Allegory With Many Applications

A personal favorite for Vancouver (and I am sure you'll catch my drift), but see who you would cast in these roles when it comes to your own skating situations in life.
  1. Narrator
  2. Chicken Little
  3. Henny Penny
  4. Ducky Lucky
  5. Goosey Loosey
  6. Turkey Lurkey
  7. Villain(actually, my hero):  Foxy Loxy
Narrator:   Chicken Little was in the woods one day when an acorn fell on her head.  It scared her so much she trembled all over.  She shook so hard, half her feathers fell out.
Chicken Little:   "Oh, help!  The sky is falling!"
Henny Penny:   "How do you know?"
Ducky Lucky:  "How do you know?"
Chicken Little:   "We're running for our lives!"
Henny Penny:  "The sky is falling!"
Chicken Little:   "Help!  Help!"
Ducky Lucky:   "The sky is falling!"
Chicken Little, Henny Penny, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey, Turkey Lurkey (together)   "Help!  Help!"  It's not a fine day at all.  The sky is falling, and we're running to tell the king!"
Moral of the story: The sky is not falling. Deal with it!

  1. Allison? I didn't think I saw you at our club's board meeting, but maybe you were there, next to Chicken Little.

Actually, I think I understand your parable. Nicely done.
